Book ↠ Lord and PharaohDownload ☆ Brian m fagan Lord and PharaohI enjoyed this It's a mostly cracking read of the parallel lives of George Herbert the 5th Earl of Carnarvon and Tutankhamen Both men were born into wealth and power both were sickly and continually plagued by ill health and both married relatives Carnarvon his cousin and Tutankhamen his half sister While we know a good and factual deal about Lord Carnarvon the same isn't true for Tutankhamen The author speculates by necessity with much of the pharaoh's life as we don't know that much about him though new tidbits are always trickling inIt's refreshing to read as most of the works on this subject deal with Howard Carter not his patron However there's numerous typos and phrasing issues in this book and you do wonder if it got properly proofread Still if the subject of the boy pharaoh and the man who bankrolled the discovery of his tomb interest you there's much to commend here
